Join us for a day of community immersion in Durban. We'll meet at the WOWZULU Marketplace at Ohlange Institute and, after grabbing a cup of coffee or water, head down with your guide/translator (zulu/english) into rural Mzinyathi. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind you, where you are greeted by rolling hills, grazing goats, and friendly people. We'll make our way to my homestead,…

We encourage you to engage with the community and greet them. Sawubona means “Hello” in isiZulu. It’s okay to take photos, but it’s always a good idea to ask permission first.

Enjoy freshly-brewed coffee, hear our stories, and view locally-made crafts. Visit the home and grave of JL Dube, first president of the ANC, and find out why Nelson Mandela chose to vote in this special place.
