Qué harás

We will start at a beautifully designed local pub with a glass of a craft beer and while we are there I will tell you a bit about traditional, hand-made souvenirs from Krakow. Then we will cross the river to admire amazing landscapes and we will go to the "Alive Lab" where we will have a workshop of traditional souvenirs making. You will learn how from recycled materials only, make puppets in folk traditional costumes from Krakow.

I was interested in this tour for two main reasons; (1) to see a more local area of Krakow and (2) to support the social enterprise this tour visits. I normally don't love making crafts so that wasn't high on my list, but it was actually really intersting! We learned (from the founder of the social enterprise- who was SO interesting & passionate) all about WHY they do crafts and what makes them special. There was also something really nice about all sitting down & working with our hands. It made the conversation really casual & intimate. Not only did we learn a lot from the founder & his family, but we also got incredible insight into Polish culture from Monika. Again, because of the casual vibe, we felt like we could ask her anything! One of my favorite things as a traveler is to just 'hang out' in a local setting. This provided exactly that. I also really enjoyed being in a local neighborhoods with no tourists. Being in a small group (we were 4 people), we were able to blend in when we popped into the small local shop to grab cake. I would definitely recommend this tour- even to those who aren't interested in making dolls ;)

Although I've been to Kraków many times, I've never explored this side of town. The doll making workshop was really fun and it made me feel really good about myself when I found out that the money I spent on this experience support such a good cause! Sometimes we tend to travel with our bucket lists and forget to immerse in the culture and enjoy the moment. I would definitely recommend this experience not only to travelers but anyone living in Kraków, especially if you have kids or you're into handicrafts. Thank you, I had a blast!
