Centro de artes escénicas
“A new landmark in Melaka: The theatre itself is a work of art! Overlooking the scenic Straits of Melaka, it sets a new landmark in Melaka with its contemporary design. The façade is tiled with fish scale-like LED panels which reflect light from the ever-changing and vibrant sky of Melaka. It is the largest permanent theatre in Malaysia designed by chief architect Wang Ge from the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, and is purpose-built for Encore Melaka and nothing else! Tip: Come early before the show to catch the beautiful sunset scene of the theatre hall against the Straits of Melaka.”

Museum
“At the Melaka Submarine Museum visitors get the chance to see a submarine up close and to go inside and witness the living and working conditions of submariners. There is only one submarine here, the SMD Ouessant, an Agosta 70 class submarine which was built in 1978 by Arsenal de Cherbourg in France. It was decommissioned by the French Navy in 2001 and subsequently transferred to the Royal Malaysian Navy where it was used as training vessel from 2005 - 2009. It is an electric/diesel powered non-nuclear submarine. Similar submarines have been used by the Spanish and Pakistani navies. Now the submarine is propped up on steel supports on dry land and is open to the public as a museum.”

Bar
“Mr and Mrs Jones Cafe is one of the top bars in the Jonker Street vacinity, with an eclectic blend of awesome live music, cheap drinks and a cosy bar atmosphere. Hawk and his wife Joan are both the owners as well as resident musicians, playing anything from blues to rock. As the cafe does not serve food, we recommend grabbing a bite to eat at one of Jonker Street’s many eateries and then head to Mr and Mrs Jones Cafe anytime between 19:00 and midnight. Come with an open mind, and who knows, you might end up jamming with the Mr and Mrs Jones! Opening Hours: Tuesday – Sunday 19:00 – 00:00 Address: 3, Jalan Hang Kasturi Tel: +6016 234 4292”
