“This theatre was design by Henry Irwin, the famous palace architect, in the Gothic style during the Colonial Era. It was named after the Gaiety Theatre in London. It was supposed to be a Town Hall but quickly turned into the favorite hangout spot for young officers and their wives. Many famous people over the years including Rudyard Kipling and Shashi Kapoor performed here in their prime. ”

Transportation
“Gorton Castle sits down from the Mall Road by the Railway Station. It’s a well-kept colonial building nestled in a myriad of Deodar trees. Rothney Castle is on Jakhoo Hill. The upkeep has been a bit shabby but it’s still a good walk. It used to be occupied by Mr. Hume who also founded the Indian National Congress. ”

During his journey, Lord Hanuman met Yaksha Rishi who was meditating on Jakhoo Hill and guided him in the right direction to get the herbs. Since then this spot on the hill is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. At present site there is also a 108 ft. statue dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This temple is a must visit for spiritually inclined. ”

“The food is delicious. The portions are huge. The place is nice. The service is great. It stays open late. What more could someone want? We’d say the pasta is particularly good. Although they have cuisine options ranging from Shahi Indian to European. ”

“This little restaurant is easy to miss. So, if you're not looking for it, you probably won't notice it. It's kind of below ground level at the further end of the Mall Road. However, if you do happen upon it, this place is excellent. The food is delicious, they have some really fun cocktail and mocktail options. The space itself is lovely! Their butter chicken is great. ”

“ It was named by Capt. Charles Prat Kennedy around the 1840s after his childhood sweetheart Anna. Back in the day, Annandale was a favorite cricket spot for the British. It’s worth visiting now for the view of the hills or for a picnic. The Indian Military Museum is now situated near the grounds ”

“Shimla's oldest cafe. Whatever the food, a hot cup of steaming filter coffee is a must-have. The south-Indian snacks especially the Masala Dosa and the Sambhar Idli are delicious in Shimla's cool climate. A unique innovation of the place is its Mutton Dosa with a mix of minced mutton and onion masala stuffing, which tastes good with or without a serving of sambhar. The best part being it is not at all expensive. ”
