Look on all the phones. There's a reason that Greenblatt's is on the speed dial. We love this place. For a nice New York style roast beef sandwich on toasted rye or to pick up a dinner of homestyle chicken that they heat up for you on the way home. They also deliver. And, have a great reasonably priced wine selection.

Treat yourself to a Bodyfuel--that's my favorite shake. It's so delicious you won't believe how good it is for you. Plus they have tons of interesting stuff for sale in the shop. Great unique gifts come from the most unexpected places. In the same plaza are some other restaurants, Burke Williams day spa, the movie theaters, Crunch gym. Across the street from Greenblatt's and The Comedy Store.

Looking for romance? Old Hollywood? I know you are because of your choice in accommodations. Here's the capper--just down the hill, the majestic Sunset Tower stares down on the Boulevard. And, we stare up at her. This is Art-Deco. The real deal. Until recently, consistently the site of the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party. Tucked away inside is a swanky little gem called the Sunset Tower Bar. Get on iconic maitre d' Dimitri Dimitrov's good side (Tower Bar regular Jennifer Anniston just flew him to New York to be in a movie she's shooting) and he'll tuck you into one of the intimate banquets with the incredible views, rich appointments and beautiful paneling.

Here's the inside scoop on the Bevelry Hills Hotel, home to the iconic Polo Lounge: BH was supposed to be nothing but oil fields, problem was when they started drilling, no oil. That left the landowners with a lot of real estate they needed to sell. They convinced the purveyor of the popular Hollywood Hotel to come to Beverly Hills and develop a new hotel--the pink palace--aka The Beverly Hills Hotel. With the new hotel in the place, the developers were able to sell every last lot in Beverly Hills--the closer you got to Sunset Boulevard, the more expensive--think (gasp!) $1,000 for a lot. Treat yourself to a nice lunch at the Polo Lounge. You're almost guaranteed to see a star.

Fantastic Italian fare plus a mozzarella/cheese bar that just can't be beat. The service is consistently exceptional--these folks know how to get it done and done right. This is a culinary collaboration between super-chef (now known as being just a pinch too grab ass-y--pun intended) Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton. This is one of the top restaurants in Top Chef host Tom Colicchio's culinary empire. Nestled adjacent to the twin triangular towers in Century City, this is a foodie nirvana. They aren't the real Wooly Mammoths that were trapped in the tar pits millions of years ago, but they look pretty convincing. You'll see bubbling tar, recreations of how the unlucky animals were trapped in the dark goo and if you want to go the extra step, a museum with tons of artifacts they've collected throughout the years. You guessed it: Venice California was actually named after Venice, Italy. So when it was created, the vision of its founder Abbott Kinney was that the California version would also have canals like its Italian counterpart. They still exist today. Not quite as many as during Mr. Kinney's time--they've been filled in a bit over the years. This is the house that Carrington's, Angels, Harts, Fantasy Islanders and Love Boaters built: the former mega-mansion of mega-producer Aaron Spelling and his wife Candy. The Spellings demolished Bing Crosby's old home to build this gigantic mansion--at the time of its construction in 1988 it was the largest home in Los Angeles. Just a few stats: it's 56,000 square feet, has 123 rooms, includes a gift wrapping room, a doll museum and a bowling alley. After Mr. Spelling passed away, his wife Candy decided to put the house on the market for $150 million--it eventually sold for $85 million to Petra Eccleston, the 23 year old daughter of British Formula One tycoon Bernie Ecclestone.

Although it was recently surpassed by another building's ANTENNA and no longer holds the official title of being L.A.'s tallest skyscraper, the U.S. Bank Building is pulling out the stops to make it the city's most popular. Number one: they've created some open air observation decks which offers unbelievable views of the entire L.A. basin. Number two: the Skyslide--it's not for the faint of heart--you're basically popping down a plexiglass slide outside the building about 1,000 feet up. For those not familiar with the building, here's it's biggest claim to fame--it joined the Empire State Building and the White House as the iconic structure those pesky aliens demolished in Independence Day.

This is the closest park to the house and one frequented by many a celeb and his and her dogs. It has some amazing views and is accessible by several trails very close to the house. Terrain varies so there's plenty for hikers of all abilities--but whatever trail you choose, it's going up--practically to Mulholland Drive at the very top of Los Angeles!

Name a movie or television show and chances are high that it was filmed at this amazing property--Greystone Mansion. It was Kermit's mansion in the Wizard of Oz and Whitney's in the Bodyguard, Wayne Manor in one of the Batman's, a futuristic hospital in Star Trek Into Darkness (it's where we first meet Khan) and for those soap fans, it's where General Hospital's Luke and Laura got married. If you love cars, then you'll love this place! The Petersen traces the evolution of car culture as it relates to Southern California. It just went through an extensive redesign--note the wavy, stainless steel exterior walls--and is now better than ever. You'll also find some iconic show biz cars in the collection as well-Magnum's cherry red Ferrari, the Back to the Future Delorean, Thelma and Louise's Thunderbird, and of course a Batmobile.

This is a gigantic and relatively new museum renowned as much for its architecture and location as it is for its location. The building is situated high above a notoriously trafficked freeway, the 405, on a bluff that overlooks everything. If, it looks familiar, it's doubled as Star Fleet headquarters in some recent Trek films. The gardens are incredible as are the exhibits which include European masters, photography, sculpture, furnishings and so much more. Be sure to consult their website before visiting--it will help you make the most of your day there. Admission is free--you must pay a $15 fee for parking.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (aka LACMA) is a huge couplex which anchors what is known as Museum Mile on Wilshire Boulevard. Across the street is the Petersen Auto Museum--just down the street, the La Brea Tar Pits. This is a spectacular museum both inside and out. Shopping

This is THE iconic shopping street in Los Angeles, probably made most famous by Julia Robert's stroll down this lane to do a little shopping in Pretty Woman. All of the major designers and labels have stores here: Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton (new flagship store, no less), Prada, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren (gorgeous interiors), Yves St Laurent, Juicy Couture, Versace, you name it, they're here. Also, this is where the stars pick up all the baubles they wear to the awards shows---Harry Winston, Tiffany, Van Clef & Arpels, Bulgari--they all are representing in these parts. Bring your black card--you're going to need it!

Originally, it started its life as a theatre for stage--its claim to fame was as "Hollywood's First Home of Spoken Drama." Then it was converted to a cinema theatre--Orson Welles famously rented out the venue to debut his controversial film Citizen Kane in 1941. Years later, Disney stepped in to restore this theatre to its former glory. Hollywood & Highland offers a lot. A fantastically framed view of the Hollywood sign; lots of shops and restaurants; great neighbors like the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars are held; the closest mass transit stop to the house--the Metro Red line is located right under the complex which gives you a gateway to the rest of the city. This is classic Hollywood. So classic in fact, that it's said that the ghost of Marilyn Monroe continues to haunt this hotel, the site of the very first Academy Awards ceremony that was held in 1929, was a dinner, wasn't broadcasted anywhere, and featured a dinner. Chicken was served. Today the hotel remains as Hollywood's oldest. It's pool side bungalows can be quite scenery. The burger joint on the ground floor is a great place to grab a bite too.

Consider this: the average beachfront lot in Santa Monica is about 25 feet wide. William Randolph Hearst's beachfront property was about 5 acres. And on that property now sits the Annenberg Community Beach House. Long gone is the main Hearst estate; however the original pool remains and it's ready for you to take a dip.
