Getting Around

Toronto is a huge city, here are recommendations on how to best get around (tip: don't drive).
It is only a 15 - 20 min walk from the house to the Bloor station on the Union Pearson Express line that takes you to the airport in about 30 min for around $5. The train also runs to Union station for getting to the CN Tower, Rogers Centre (or SkyDome as locals still call it), Ripley's Aquarium, Hockey Hall of Fame and many of Toronto's big tourist attractions, not to mention the GO and Via train station at Union. It's quicker and less crowded than taking the subway to Union, and for only $1 more. https://www.upexpress.com/SchedulesStations/BloorStation

The West Toronto Railpath runs just a few blocks west of the house and is a great off street, car free multiuse path for getting north to south by bike or foot in the area. Lots of people use it for running/jogging or a leisurely stroll, walking the dog, or just lounging. Located next to one of Toronto's main rail corridors, it gives you a unique perspective on the city, opening the rarely seen working side of the factories and businesses that helped develop Toronto through the late 19th to the mid-20th century. The transformation of these industrial buildings to multi use residential is helping to preserve the original architectural character of the neighbourhood. There is also a surprising amount of flora and fauna along the green strip the railpath has created, especially bird life. Do however watch out for skunks roaming the area, especially at dusk and dawn! https://railpath.ca/map/
