Helicopter ride over the island

There are several companies offering scenic tours over the island. Most depart from small landing strips next to Lihue airport although there is one company flying out of the Princeville airfield. Whoever you fly with the ride is spectacular bringing you into the Mount Waialeale volcanic crater, up close to waterfalls and an arial view of the spectacular Na Pali coastline. A definite must do!

If you love botanical gardens...

If you are interested in the flora and fauna of the island, both indigenous and introduced, there are some wonderful parks on the island. The National Tropical Botanical garden at Limahuli is well worth the visit (http://ntbg.org/gardens/limahuli.php). The collections here are used for conservation, cultural perpetuation, and education. An equally magnificent garden is the Allerton collection west of Poipu (http://ntbg.org/gardens/allerton).
