With distinctive red volcanic rock slopes, measuring 170 meters wide, 270 meters in circumference and 55 meters deep, Kerid crater lake is a 3,000 year old volcanic crater lake in South Iceland on the Golden Circle route. The actual lake itself is relatively shallow, between 7 and 14 metres, depending on rainfall and other factors, but as a result of minerals from the surrounding soil, the water is a unique and strikingly vivid aquamarine shade of blue. Take an easy hike around Kerid crater and enjoy the spectacular view!

The swimming pool in Laugaskarði is 50 meters long and 12 meters wide and for a long time was the largest swimming pool in the country. It is a so-called flow pool, heated by steam, which ensures the normal acidity and purity of the water. The pool is in a sheltered rest area that looks out to the south, north of Varmár on the road to the State Gardening School at Reykir in Ölfus. A guard is always on hand at the pool and there is also a TV system to monitor and ensure pool guests' safety. There is a hot, shallow pool, electric hot tub and a natural sauna.

Secret Lagoon natural hot springs are located in the small village called Fludir and are in the Golden Circle area. We have kept it natural and unique for our guests so they can get the true Icelandic feeling. The pool’s natural surroundings and steam rising into the air gives the place a magical feeling. The warm water stays at 38-40 Celsius all year. In the whole area there are several geothermal spots and a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes, showing off for the guests relaxing in the hot spring. During winter, the northern lights often give a great lightshow above Secret Lagoon. What better way to view the spectacular light show overhead than relaxing in the pool’s warm water?
