Historic Kapaa Town has lots of shops, and restaurants worth spending some time exploring. Rent a bike and cruise the Kapaa Bike Path, it is one of the most scenic bike paths I've ever been on. It travels along the coast, and passes the beautiful beaches of Kealia Beach and Paliku Point Beach. Hiking up Sleeping Giant is a worthy hike with fantastic views.

Historic Kapaa Town has lots of shops, and restaurants worth spending some time exploring. Rent a bike and cruise the Kapaa Bike Path, it is one of the most scenic bike paths I've ever been on. It travels along the coast, and passes the beautiful beaches of Kealia Beach and Paliku Point Beach. Hiking up Sleeping Giant is a worthy hike with fantastic views.
Nice restaurants, and shops. On Wednesday’s from 3:30pm until 6:00pm, the shopping center hosts a Culinary Market with lots of great local vendors, and live music.

Parks & Nature
It's the Grand Canyon of the Pacific! Our favorite hike there is to Waipoo Falls, along the Canyon Trail, where you are in the canyon, with amazing views, and can swim in a small waterfall pond, and stand at the top of Waipoo Falls, a cascading 800 foot waterfall.

Parque Estatal Cañón de Waimea
Waimea Canyon DriveIt's the Grand Canyon of the Pacific! Our favorite hike there is to Waipoo Falls, along the Canyon Trail, where you are in the canyon, with amazing views, and can swim in a small waterfall pond, and stand at the top of Waipoo Falls, a cascading 800 foot waterfall.

Reminiscent of Tahoe in Hawaii. Lovely cool climate, with towering California Redwoods, a small lodge open for breakfast and lunch, a nice museum with gift shop, and outstanding nature trails, hikes, and panoramic lookout vistas at the end of the road.

The spectacular North Shore of Kauai. Stunning views, and a two-mile sandy crescent beach. Best place on the island to watch world-class surfers, and Kauai's up and coming groms. The town of Hanalei is a small, laid-back surf town, with great shops and restaurants. Uber casual.
At the end of the road on the far north shore. Spectacular scenery! Haena Beach is a large, Lifeguard protected beach, Tunnels Beach, and Ke’e Beach* are the best snorkeling on the island.
One of the beast hiking trails on the Planet, the Kalalau Trail* begins at the end of the road. Even if you are not a hiker, making the trek at least up to the 1/2 mile marker, provides breathtaking views of the NaPali Coast and our Northshore Reef. Hiking in 2 miles to Hanakapiai Beach is an adventurous hike. And if you are feeling really adventurous, from Hanakapiai Beach, you can head upstream, and the trail will take you to a 300’ waterfall.

Visit Kilauea Lighthouse, and our local shore birds. If birds are an interest to you, don't miss this place. On the way to the Lighthouse you pass through Kilauea. A small local community with some great shops and restaurants worth stopping at.

The Plantation Railway, a fun, historic train ride, through acres of tropical gardens, with a stop to feed the wild pigs and goats. And the Koloa Rum Shop & Tasting Room.

My favorite food truck located at the Hanalei Pier (open from 12-3pm each day). While there walk out or jump off the pier. Hanalei Taro & Juice Co. Where ordering authentic laulau with fresh Hanalei taro. And for fresh smoothies, açaí bowels, or Dole Whip, Aloha Juice Bar in the parking lot of Ching Young Village, next to Big Save. They’re open from 10am to 4pm.
For dinner, my personal favorites are Ama (fresh noodle dishes & more) and BarAcuda (tapas). Both present creative culinary dishes, crafted cocktails, wine & beer, cool vibes, farm fresh ingredients.
