These are places we have personally tried or recommended by our guests. Some of them are within walking distance to the villa and even open pretty late. We try to find various options for our guests especially those with dietary restrictions. Note: There are a few Halal restaurants around (Warung Muslim, being the nearest but we could not find the link. You should see it as you walk to the right or left when you reach the main road)
(Walking distance from the villa) We haven't personally tried this since we don't eat pork but it's an iconic place visited by many. To reach it, just turn right once you reach the main road. It's 5 minutes walk from Villa Orked. The husband and wife duo first opened the small road-side stall in Ubud, Bali in 1995. The global expansion is further carried by the Naughty Nuri’s International President Mr. Peter Khor. Naughty Nuri’s has become a must visit eatery to everyone and has been patronised by the world’s most prominent people including A-list of Hollywood stars Julia Roberts and Tan Sri Dato’ Michelle Yeoh, Celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain and Martin Yan.

This long, expansive, soft white sand beach is not only well known for its gorgeous scenery (the glittering sands stretch for a full 3km), but also as the spot where local fishermen sell their fresh-from-the-net fish each morning at the bustling markets. As the island’s seafood hub, it’s no surprise then that you’ll also find a number of beachfront barbecues dotted along the coastline, cooking up the day’s catch for your grazing pleasure as the sun sets. For a romantic seafood dinner, head to the bay before dark and choose your ocean treats from the display to devour just a few minutes later.

Don't expect clear crystal beach in Sanur but it's a nice clean stretch littered with cafes and places to hang out. You can rent a bicycle and cycle along the path of Pantai Mertasari stopping to get a drink or ice cream. The water is shallow so kids can play while parents chill by the numerous cafes there.

If you like to surf or just watch, Suluban is an interesting place to go to. The best spot to see surfers go in and come out of the water is at the end of a challenging path with tons of steps. However, it's so worth it. If you're in a big group, try asking the last restaurant there if you can rent their private area. We spend nearly a whole day there even though we don't surf. The private area has a swimming pool, gazebos and umbrellas and the view is just stunning.

Located at the most southern point of Bali, Melasti Beach is around an hour from Canggu but relatively easy to get to. Just a five minute drive from Green Bowl Beach and the Abandoned Plane, for those staying in Uluwatu it’s super close and perfect for a chilled out day. For us Melasti is easily the best beach in Bali. e careful when parking your bike as the entrance to the beach is made up of broken rocks and pebbles. There are a handful of local warungs set up on the beach that still charge surprisingly cheap prices for local food. So there are plenty of noodles and burgers available for everybody.

Kumbasari Art Market (or Pasar Kumbasari), is Denpasar’s longstanding art market that forms the central landmark and the city’s main traditional market complex, together with the Badung Traditional Market. The art market is located on the western side of the Badung River, opposite Badung Market, and features two storeys laid out with small art kiosks, textile and electronics shops. The locals also source their daily household necessities and temple ritual items from several shops here, from silk parasols, temple attire, to silver holy water vessels. The art market is open around the clock, however each kiosk within varies.

With a brochure of moderately priced treatments and a team of exceptionally trained therapists, AMO Spa is an island favourite. A bounty of beauty products and OPI polishes fill the walls of their busy reception area, which is conveniently sealed off from the various areas of indulgence where the meticulous mechanics of their makeovers take place. Don’t miss their great facials and a manicure / pedicure enjoyed over a glass of vino or two. The complimentary banana snacks and ginger tea are just the icing on the cake.
