This iconic dairy has some of the largest ice cream cones you'll ever experience. Lines out the door, kids just back from a summer baseball game. If you are an early bird, this places has the best donuts in town - hands-down.

This place is an amazing (but not cheap) place to get a cuban inspired burger (chose black bean, beef, chorizo, chicken....). A short walk from our house you can eat there or get it to go.

Only for carry out - this place is my husband's favorite lunch spot in Ann Arbor (and they have dinner). This is local food, specially crafted and yummy. Grab it to go and enjoy it at our picnic table in the back yard.

Not always the easiest place to find parking. There are entrances off Washington Heights and Geddes Ave (park in the neighborhood, but look for no parking signs). This is an oasis with trails, access to the river, etc.

The Huron River runs through the city and is often hard to get to. A trip down the river (over some Cascades) in a rented Kayak or Canoe is a great way to experience the river and feel like you are in a whole other world. The kayak trip takes you from Argo to Gallup park, where they will drive ou back to your car at Argo at the end of your trip!

Another wonderful park in Ann Arbor which has a great view of the cityscape. Grab an ice cream cone from Washtenaw Dairy and walk up the hill to one of the highest points on our side of town.

theride.org - Ann Arbor's bus system may leave some big city types disappointed but it is one the best bus systems I've ever experienced in a town of 120K people. There are stops on W. Huron by the YMCA (2 blocks away) and on W. Liberty (just up the street)
