We will walk an offroad route through narrow paths of the Meru village through a Catholic church, a Catholic school, and breathtaking peaceful Natural Scenes. Depending on the pace, the hike can take 2-3 hours. We will arrive at Lake Duluti for the tour, relaxation, cannoe sail and lunch. A professional guide will take you through the well reserved forest with some remains from the German colonial rule. The professionaly trained guide will identify and tell you a number of interesting facts about each bird specie. If you are an enthusiast of African birds you will be left open-mouthed by the variety of birds in the well-reserved forest. If not you will just enjoy a hike through the forest accompanied by different songs from different bird species, you can sometimes spot monkeys and enjoy a view of Mount Kilimanjaro at one of our resting points. After the hike, we will go on a canoe tour around the lake. If you are a fishing enthusiast you can also go for fishing, equipment and extras will be applied. Bicycling tour around Arusha National Park. We meet at the Hobby Fast Food- our non profit café. Then we ride down to the old Moshi road, pass churches and mosques and the place where we have our market on Thursdays and Sundays. After that we continue at the big road until Momela road – The road to the Arusha national park. There you will see coffee plantations, and we will tell you about what we Tanzanians grow here. If you look up you will even see Mount Meru. After that we leave the big road and go by the road up to Usa River, where the guide will tell you about the water drainage system and tell you about how they used that to feed the big flower plantation, which used to be here. You still see the greenhouses. If you are lucky, you will even see some of the wild animals living here - zebras, antelopes many kinds of monkeys and birds. After a little break there you continue through the village, where you will pass a lot of shops and children. The children will call HI you Mzungu and run after you. Then we continue down again, and stop at our café. This café is driven by volunteers from URYDO. There we will have a soda, and you can buy bites or order delicious local food and eat at our roof top terrace with a view over the life in Usa River- even Mount Meru and Killimanjaro if the weather is clear.

The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 metres (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometres (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 metres (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high. The crater floor is 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level. The crater was voted by Seven Natural Wonders as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in Arusha, Tanzania in February 2013. The Ngorongoro volcano was active from about 2.45 to 2 million years ago. This is a must visit place when in Arusha and I shall make you have a lifetime experience that you will always remember. At 5 pm the local senior football players (18-35 years) meet and practice football in Usa River Sports and Hobby Club. After half an hour with excise we start a match (90 min). We meet at the Hobby Fast Food – our non-profit café. On the first part of the tour we pass churches and mosques along Old Moshi road. You hear about our early history with influence from the Arabs and colonist,.We turn South and pass Usa’s drainage system and rice fields. These were established in the 1970’s as a cooperation between Nyerere (our first president) and China. After a stop under a 100 years old Mango tree, we continue and pass an Ethiopian settlement, the result of the friendship between Haille Selaisse and Nyerere – the first President of independent Tanzania. We continue through small villages until we reach the old railway. Then we ride to the old railway station with the beautiful view of the river, have a little break under a Jacaranda tree. Here we talk about the German and British, and how the colonial times have affected us. The rest of the way a drive through along avocado farms and coffee trees. We make a stop at our plot, where we grow our own organic vegetables for café. We continue and discuss foreigners in Tanzania. After the trip we have a soda at Cafe Hobby Fast Food, driven by volunteers from URYDO. Then you can buy bites or order delicious local food and eat at our roof top terrace with views over the life in Usa River – even Kilimanjaro, if you’re lucky. If you want, you can book lunch in advance.

First, we talk about the traditional food of Tanzania and decide what to cook. Then we go shopping together with the local mamas at the street shops. We talk about the origin of the food and how to get a good price. We continue to the butcher. Then we return to the café and prepare the food together. As we cook the food we talk about the Tanzanian kitchen and which part food plays in Tanzanian life. We talk about the different tribes, and their different traditions in regard to food. Visit a Coffee Farm
Join us for an unforgettable coffee and local cuisine experience at the local farm in Ambureni village near Mountain Meru. Learn the history of coffee plantations in Tanzania, get in touch with local culture and farming traditions at our delicious gastronomy tour. On the farm, among magnificent serene jungle, you will personally handpick beans from the coffee plants, and our stuff will guide you through each step of coffee making. Then later you will have an opportunity to try a large selection of traditional Tanzanian dishes prepared on the bonfire by local mamas. Finally, finish off with a cup of delicious, fully prepared by you, African coffee.
Waterfalls and Coffee Tour in Materuni
The tour will take 6 hours. Pickup will be arranged in Arusha or Moshi with air-conditioned private vehicle. We will start our tour in Materuni, the last village before Kilimanjaro. The hike up to the Materuni Waterfalls takes about 1 hour. After the hike, we will start our Coffee tour where you will get to see how coffee is processed from harvest to cup. To begin the activity, we will meet at the departure location - Mount Meru hotel (pickups can be arranged from various locations at an extra cost). We will take a 20-30minute drive through the Sekei villages to our destination: Themi falls leisure park. After arriving, we will take care of formalities at the gate and begin our hike through the peaceful forests. The hike is medium paced, 30-40mins through the quietness of the well preserved Themi leisure park. We will arrive at our destination (Themi waterfalls) at around mid-afternoon. You will have lunch and drinks in a very eco-friendly manner. If you wish to go for a swim in the waterfall's natural swimming pool, please bring swimming gear. Typically we will spend as much time as you want at the waterfalls. When you've had enough of it, we will begin our walk back to the gate where you have a choice of either walking back for the active trekkers or taking a car. Other things to note Pickup location is flexible. Transport can be arranged from various locations in and out of Arusha; please inquire if you can be picked up from your location before you dismiss.

The women running the class are native speakers and will teach you the basics of Swahili. You will have the opportunity to interact with the girls and ask questions while learning the language and culture.

Waterfall, Hotspring, Coffee Tour Moshi
A full day adventure to Moshi town where we will visit the Materuni waterfall then go to Kikuletwa village for a Hotspring tour. Located just 15km away from Moshi Town, Materuni is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park and the home to the most amazing waterfall in the northern region. Be ready for a 40 minutes walk to the pool at the foot of the waterfall that is inviting for a refreshing swim and amazing flora and fauna on the way. Before going to The Hot spring in Kikuletwa, local packed lunch is provided after the tour to the waterfall. Kikuletwa Hot springs is also located in the middle of a semi arid landscape, surrounded by sprawling fig trees. Amid the trees it features crystal clear water bubbling from underground springs. This is a perfect destination, to take a swim after a trip to the waterfall. The drive from Moshi town is about an hour.
