Well worth a visit - nothing like a traditional zoo. The animals have space and their enclosures are well adapted to their needs. It's beautiful and there's lots of caves.

The local fabulous zoo in Doue la Fontaine approximately 5mins drive from us, is well worth a visit. The Zoo was originally created out of old stone quarries and underground caves and is now home to a variety of exotic animals including big cats, penguins, reptiles and vultures. It’s conservationist approach has won many of our reluctant guests over!

This is a world class conservation zoo in a spectacular setting and we highly recommend it. Many unusual animals that you will view from above and below ground, and even in an amphitheatre. Go early for the best animal viewing. The underground viewing points are a life saver on a hot day. The buffet restaurant is open for lunch and dinner (July-August only) and very unique.
