The 14.5 km canal which passes through the Island of Montreal’s southwest is called Lachine Canal. Lachine is considered to be the gateway to a network of canals which link the Atlantic Ocean to the heart of the North American continent and is considered a National Historic Site.

Walk along the Lachine canal. There's a great bike path and the whole canal passes through a stunning post-industrial sector.
