Worth a spin through downtown "Mazo" where you'll find the Base Camp Cafe. Good food, friendly service. Last time I stopped by, I had a beet salad - delicious and free, the owner was encouraging diners to eat their veggies. To make up for the beets, I downed a large, warm healthy portion of bread pudding drizzled with caramel sauce. Enough to share, but I didn't. Mid-morning on Monday's, locals gather here to write letters, primarily to politicians, in hopes of a reprieve. Gem of a find.
