VEGAN/VEGETARIAN ......... The best vegan/veggie restaurant in our neighbourhood. Only a short 15 minute walk south. Housed in a beautiful old "machiya". Menu changes regularly, but they are famous for their vegan ramen. Good organic wines as well.

“JAPANESE CURRY & SHOT BAR. Only a 5 minute walk from Jam Jar. Without doubt the best Japanese Curry in Kyoto. Tommy (not his real name) runs this bar himself with help from his lovely wife (Masako-san) who cooks the curry. There is only 2 x choices, usually chicken or pork, but he does have an extensive menu so plenty of veggie options available. Opens from 7:00pm - 2:00am (closes either on a Sunday or Monday night but very irregular).”
