This Concert Hall in Downtown Portland has great concerts. We try to visit often. The Oregon Symphony performs the soundtracks of movies--while the movie is playing! They also have many marvelous performances throughout the year.

We have to hand it to the Oregon Symphony, they've done a great job infusing new life into what could be dismissed as old-school music, with programs such as Brahms vs. Radiohead, Pirates of the Carribbean, and our local indie band, Blind Pilot playing with the symphony.

The building that now houses what locals lovingly call “The Schnitz” was originally the Portland Public Theatre, built in 1928, and later renamed the Paramount Theatre. The Concert Hall plays host to a variety of presentations including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk and gospel music, dance, theatre, travel films, conferences, and weddings.
