The Cannonball House, named for damage sustained during the Civil War, was built in 1853 as a planter’s townhouse. Located in Macon, Georgia, The Cannonball House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is an example of authentic Greek Revival architecture containing fine period furnishings. The gift shop carries Southern, Macon, Georgia and Civil War merchandise. A charming English garden features seasonal blooms. Forty-five minute guided tours include the main house and the original two-story brick kitchen and servants’ quarters. Tours are offered beginning at 10:00AM with the last tour beginning at 3:30PM. You’ll enjoy touring The Cannonball House’s rich history, including the Adelphean Collection, Civil War and General Museum, Philomathean Museum, and more.
