The Art Museum RIGA BOURSE is an architectural monument of national importance. It was built between 1852 and 1855 in the style of a Venetian renaissance palazzo symbolising wealth and plenitude. The design was by the St. Petersburg architect of German origin Harald Julius Bosse (1812-1894) and for the first time in its history, all the rooms are open to the public.

The Art Museum Riga Bourse stores the largest collection of foreign art in Baltic States. The collection was started by Riga’s council members, mayors and traders in 19 century. Now museum offers international exhibitions and wide spectrum of culture and arts events.

The Art Museum Riga Bourse is located in the historical centre of Riga and represents a new type of museums; the museum was opened in 2011. The museum offers to experience interrelation between East and West, as well as a dialogue between the classics and modernity. An important aspect of the new museum is harmony between the acquisition of knowledge and recreation, as well as the breaking down of barriers between various forms of culture.
