A beautiful, historic stone cottage in the heart of the gold fields. simply modernised to maintain an old world ambience and eclectically furnished with family heirloom furniture and special interest collections. It's the way we like it and I'm sure our guests will too. Come for a relaxing weekend, winter or summer, enjoying the surrounding nature and wildlife. Union House is a unique part of Castlemaine's history. The Hermitage (Cottage)

Unwind in this spacious two bedroom retreat. "The Hermitage" is a unique stone cottage just five minutes (4.5 km) from Castlemaine's town centre. Lovingly renovated to blend historic charm with modern comfort. Originally built during the gold rush of the 1850s, the cottage sits on 26 peaceful acres where kangaroos and horses graze nearby. The cooler months are especially inviting, with a wood fire that keeps you warm while creating a cosy ambience.
