Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

Haggerston Castle Lakeside Luxury Lodge

Enjoy some luxury in this top-of-the-range Pemberton Rivendale Lodge. This large 20ft x 40ft lodge (the size of two caravans) is on the lake-front and has a huge south-facing wraparound decking which is the biggest on park. Once part of the mill and steading which served Haggerston Castle; whose few ruins sit a mile to the north; this semi-detached property still retains a rustic feel courtesy of its mottled stone exterior and rural location near Beal. Inside, however, a refurbishment has brought lots of wood, lots of light, lots of space, and lots of interior style via open-plan design, splashes of greenery and well-chosen fabrics.

For colder months my home is cosy with central heating and a wood burning stove; perfect to relax in front of after exploring the island .
