If you have kids (or are a kid!) then Legoland, SeaWorld, Birch Aquarium, SD Zoo, Wildlife Safari Park, Balboa Park, Del Mar Fairgrounds are all a short drive away. If you want a hipster, romantic get-away, just walk down the hill to the beach, trendy restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, surfing, sunbathing, people-watching, and just unplugging.

Tucked into the hillside by Lake Hodges, the tiny house is a romantic retreat or a place to unwind surrounded by nature, w/plenty of amenities so you don't have to sacrifice comfort. Lake & mountain views from inside & out-- private, large covered deck, dining patio, outdoor shower (& indoor), beautiful saltwater pool, & fire bowl. Though it feels like you're in a secluded retreat, urban amenities are just a few miles away. SD Zoo Safari Park, wineries, breweries & beaches all w/in easy reach.

Casa Grotto, Romantic Stone Cottage w/ Ocean Views

Perched 800ft above sea level with panoramic ocean views from La Jolla to Catalina Island, Casa Grotto is a unique stone studio carved into the ocean view hillside of Lake San Marcos . Built in the 80's using stone from the mountain, the space was updated in 2025 with modern touches—featuring a rock shower, full kitchen, AC, and gym. Just 20 minutes from the beach, it’s a dreamy escape for surfers, hikers, and couples looking for a romantic getaway. No pets—our two friendly boxers live on-site

Come enjoy everything that Encinitas has to offer and live like the locals! It’s like staying at a friend’s place without feeling like you are invading their space! Very peaceful, clean and perfectly located between beach (with great restaurants and boutiques) and El Camino Real (where all the big shops are located). Your own private entrance with parking right in front of the gate. A private studio with newly remodeled spa-like bathroom. Attached to our home - but completely private.

Sunset Dome

Our dome is a half-moon structure that features a king-size memory foam bed and an outdoor shower under a pepper tree, while the deck provides stunning views of the hilltop. We're located in a gated community close to all major attractions, and guests can enjoy beautiful sunsets, starry skies, ocean breeze, and bird watching (21 different kinds). The dome is 200 sqft with AC/heater, an outhouse (composting toilet), and outdoor showers, making it a perfect choice for glamping.

Newly Built Nest in picturesque, Olivenhain

This newly built guest suite at our home sits above our garage high up on a hill in one of Encinitas' oldest neighborhoods: Olivenhain. Despite its charm, it's only minutes away from countless shops and restaurants but most importantly: The Beach. The toughest decision you'll have to make while here is whether to go to Cardiff by the Sea for the day or Moonlight State Beach, often ranked one of the best in the country. Olivenhain also has an incredible "dark sky policy."
