Located 15 minutes from Estes Park Downtown, the cabin is nestled in the archway to the Rocky Mountains. During your stay, enjoy a view of Mount Meeker and partial view of Longs Peak, as well as the relaxing sound of a creek. You will be minutes away from trailheads to waterfalls, bike trails around Lake Estes, and casual shopping and dining in Estes Park. Conveniently, the cabin is located off of Hwy 7, for easy access from the Denver-Boulder area. 4WD/AWD recommended in winter/spring.

NO electricity or running water. Outdoor shower stall with two 5-gallon solar heated shower bags. Bring towels. Outhouse nearby. Bring food & ice. Well water provided from spigot at main cabin. What we lost from the seclusion of trees, we gained in 360 degree views of Kawuneeche Valley & Rocky Mountain National Park. Nature has rebounded quickly & you will see abundant wildlife grazing the meadow, with moose and elk visiting daily. That Dam Cabin, too!

This historic yet modern 500 square foot cabin was built in 1932 for men working on the Shadow Mountain dam. When we found it, we knew this would be the perfect getaway for us and wanted others to share this experience too. Our cabin is 4 miles from downtown Grand Lake! It's a short drive to restaurants, shops, hiking, fishing, the beach and kayak/boat rentals. Head to the Rocky Mountain National park to hike and see wildlife or stay home and enjoy s'mores around the fire.
