It is part of the Silkaatsnek Nature Reserve, home of Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebra, Waterbuck, Kudu, Impala & various other Antelope, birds, etc. We are situated in the Hartbeespoort Dam area, which uses the slogan “Close to the City, Out of this World” for many reasons. 'River on my stoep' is a well equipped self-catering cottage in the Hekpoort Valley. The wooden cabin is on the Magalies River and is surrounded by the sounds of nature - the haunting cry of a jackal and a chorus of frogs is our music at night. One of the few places that you can still see fire flies at night (in summer) A rowing boat is moored in front of the cottage, exclusively for our guests. 'Catch-and-release' fishing is permitted.

Unit 1 is a Luxury apartment suitable for 2 guests (unfortunately no children) with amazing views over the dam. There is one bedroom fitted with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with 2 showers and a Jacuzzi bath and fully equipped kitchen. The unit is not wheelchair friendly, as there is a step leading to the bathroom.
