This is the nearest seaside and makes a great day out. There are two restaurants/bars on the beach. Our favourite is Chambao or take a towel and go DIY. You can walk across to Sotto Grande to see the boats and have a beer as well.

Hire a car in Gibraltar
This is the easiest way to get about - hire a car in Gibraltar and you pick it up just over the border in La Linea. This is about 40 minutes from Jimena. If you arrive on a Sunday most small supermarkets are shut so pick up a few provisions from a large one near La Linea or a garage (usually stocked pretty well).
