Whether you are looking for a long day hike or a short 5-minute walk to amazing sunsets spots - Mont Rochelle is the place to go. It is situated on top of the Franschhoek Pass, so you are right in the mountains. You can also get a fantastic aerial view of our picturesque town from some spots. Permits are available at the gate but, if you come after 5 pm, it is free.

One of the lesser-known gems of Franschhoek is Berg River Dam. It offers many stunning trails in the mountains that can be done on foot or on a mountain bike. It is also a great spot for swimming or picnicking.
