The area is a very important natural area, called Parco della Caffarella, and despite being almost unknown to most, it represents one of the largest urban green areas in the whole of Europe. It is located close to the Aurelian Walls, in an area lapped by two ancient routes that have literally marked the economic fortune of old Rome: the Via Latina and the Via Appia Antica. In the 1980s, the Committee for the Caffarella Park was born, thanks to which the largest public natural area in Rome was created, within which a priceless historical and artistic heritage is preserved.
