Walk to summit
Exiting via the front door, take the path behind the Ship, cross the old railway line and take the bridle path that leads up to the fells. Turn right until you reach the Walna Scar car park, from where there are two routes to the summit, both right and left.

A 17 century inn, situated in the tiny hamlet of Broughton Mills, just north of Broughton-in-Furness (well worth a visit, too). There are three dining rooms and a cosy bar with a log fire. Try and book the Range Room, next to the bar. An extensive menu, with a family cooking feel to the well-executed dishes. The Lamb Henry is highly recommended!
