They are 2 (locals) spots on the Peconic Bay. Sand + rocky beach, but calmer and quieter than the ocean beach. Good for evening cookouts, relaxing. About 1-2 mi drive.

Hampton Bays is a secret gem! Situated just 75 miles from NYC, its an easy drive (or LIRR train ride) out East, with easy access to the ocean, bay beaches and Forth Fork! The vibe in Hampton Bays is low-key, friendly, local surfer town, with all the perks of the other hamlets such as bay-side restaurants, cafes, local fish market, quiet and expansive beaches, waves for surfing and body boarding, but with a down-to-earth feel.
