Popular destination both in summer and in winter. In summer because of flowers festival with almost two hundred different types of flowers that adorn the manor park and are arranged into massive sculptures and exhibitions. The flower festival takes place every day throughout the summer until the first autumn frosts. During the winter, Pakruojis mansion attracts thousands of people with an incredibly beautiful festival of The Great Lanterns of China. You need to buy tickets for both festivals (13-20€ for an adult).

Museum’s expositions contains buildings characteristic of the 19th century and the vicinities: cottages, granaries, baths, threshing floors, and barns. There is a total of 28 buildings in the village. The village has a windmill built in 1884. During the weekends village usually hosts educational programs. Entrance fee is 5€/adult.

Every spring, the manor hosts the tulip flowering festival which is well-known throughout Lithuania and abroad. Best time to go there is in May-June.

Small picturesque village next to Seduva. An aeroclub and an equestrian club are operating there. You can ride a bike or walk there by using the bycile path starting just on the oposite side of street in which the cabin is located.

Place where declaration of Independence was signed by key resistance leaders in 1949-02-16. Worth of visiting to get better understanding of history of postwar resistance movement. There are some original items, which were found during the archaeological excavations there, presented in the exhibition in Minaičiai as well as many photos of the anti-Soviet guerilla warfare era and some reconstructed items. The anti-Soviet guerilla hideout is open to visitors. Museum is open by request. Give a quick call before arriving.

Despite many attempts to destroy it, this unusual pilgrimage site endures as a powerful testament to devotion. UNESCO recognizes cross-making as intangible cultural heritage of Lithuania, a “symbol of national and religious identity,” uniting the community in the face of adversity. During the Soviet era, religion remained banned and the Hill of Crosses off limits. In April 1961, the entire site was bulldozed and burned down by the authorities. Even though the Hill of Crosses was destroyed four more times, each time locals risked political danger by defiantly rebuilding the site under the cover of darkness.

Big portions, good prices. Best value food in the area. You can sit both outside and inside. Interior is very traditional Lithuanian contryside style. Try “cepelinai” and “šašlykai”.
