Tallahassee Sights to See and Explore

Bicyclists, joggers, hikers, strollers, birdwatchers, and horseback riders can all find enjoyable off-road experiences on the Lake Overstreet Trails in Maclay Gardens State Park. Located near I-10 on the north side of Tallahassee, the trails are easily accessible and rated as moderately difficult with just over 4-miles to explore. There are two main trailheads, one is in Maclay Gardens State Park, and the other is at the Forest Meadows Park on North Meridian Road. The trails are smooth with few roots, making them beginner-friendly; however, the challenge lies in how they dip in and out of deep ravines. Also, if coming from Meridian Road on the multi-use trail, it is about a two-hundred-foot descent to Lake Overstreet. The Lake Overstreet Trails connect to several more miles of trails in Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park off Meridian Road, so you can easily put together a daylong adventure if you wish. Featured Uses: Walking, jogging, nature watching, bicycling, and equestrian. Leashed dogs are permitted. Park Access: Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park 3540 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32309 (850) 487-4556 Fee: $2 per person for pedestrians and bicyclists. Amenities: Parking area, playground, and walking trails. Our story began when we started going to several axe throwing venues around the country and couldn’t imagine a better place for one than Tallahassee. We had so much fun that we thought we should share with all of you! We are very hands on with our business and you will more than likely see us at least once during your experience. Our goal at Tomahawks 51 is to bring something fun, stress relieving, but most importantly safe to town! We take pride in our business, so please let us know how we are doing!

1355 Market Street STE A11 Tallahassee FL 32312 (850) 521-0091 Lofty Pursuits opened in 1993 as a small skill toy store. Over the years, the product lines expanded, and every time Lofty Pursuits outgrew an old location and moved, something major was added. First, it was board games and general toys, then a full-service soda fountain and candy making, most recently it has been a full kitchen to do a daily brunch, and to make more candy. Lofty Pursuits has been the set for film, a location that preserves lost skills like Victorian Candy Making and a place where you can find a smile, when you need it, when you want it, and even when you are not looking for it. So come in, enjoy our collections of odd things that should be preserved, have brunch, watch us make candy and taste hard candies when they are warm. See us make candy canes, pull out a board game and sit back and play for a bit. Not everything in life should be rushed, but everything should make you happy. Lofty Pursuits, your happy place in Tallahassee.
