Food scene

Amazing kosher bakery/restaurant in Ramat Yishai. On Thursdays/Fridays (never exactly sure) they have brioche that is according to my French husband, “better than in France.” Their food, bread and pastries are amazing and they have indoor and outdoor seating. There is also an outdoor area with picnic tables where you can take out and eat there.

Super cute cafe with limited menu. Not kosher, but vegetarian. It is in a beautiful town very close called Alonei Abba, worth a stroll. The cafe itself, called “the place of inspiration” is frequented by artists, and has inside a small shop selling local art and all kinds of things. They also have occasional music performances, and art shows. Outdoor seating.

Reservation required. Beautiful view of the vineyard, vegetarian and kosher. Delicious food, cheeses, wine of course. Good place for a wine or coffee, or lunch. In the religious moshav, Sde Yaakov. Fridays are incredibly busy and hard to get reservations. Worth a visit!

Quite expensive, but VERY good gourmet chocolate. I believe they also give chocolate making workshops. But definitely worth a visit.

Drinks and other fun outings

They often have special events, wine tastings, sometimes music and a food truck, great place to go out.

Shvil Parot HaChalav Super fun activity with the kids. The dairy farmer takes you on a tour of his shed, teaches about cows, let’s the kids milk a cow and at the end makes a special treat from freshly “squeezed” and pasteurized milk. There is also a fresh olive oil shop right next door

Town center

The center of Tiv’on (steps from the house) has casual restaurants, bakery/cafes, shops and a wide lawn where people hang out, have picnics etc… the lawn also has a fairly well-equipped playground for kids. Occasionally in the Warner weather, there will be events and music performances on the lawn.

Sightseeing

The statue of Alexander Zaid is on a small mountain that is fun to hike up. In the winter, it’s a beautiful place to have a picnic.

Wadis/valley forests in Tiv’on

There are many entrances to the “Wadi” in Tiv’on. In the winter months, they are green and beautiful. There in an entrance right across from our house (the path you see that goes down). And there in another area from HaIris and HaYasmin streets that is wide and gorgeous. And you will sometimes see cows roaming around. They belong to the surrounding kibbutzim and are allowed to roam there and snack in order to prevent forest fires. Also, in the winter, you might find asparagus growing! It’s a great mid-hike snack.
