Grocery shopping before you arrive
We stop at Bònus to shop for food it is on the way to the cottage just 15 to 20 min before you arrive at the cottage..there is a shop called Vinbùðin there also for wine spirits and beer but the price in the duty-free is much better. Bónus closes at 8 in the evening so if you arrive later you have to go to Hagkaup garðatorgi or stop at Nettò in Mjòdd they have open all night long but are more expensive .Dont buy water in Iceland it is the same in the tabs and it is so clean and fresh just fill a bottle in the cottage to take with you

This is the oldest pool in Iceland ..it was built in 1891. The water is a natural hot spring the small Geysir ..and it is so lovely .. not far from the cottage

Glacier and ice floating in this magnificent place .. a bit far away 4.15 min drive but if you have few days it is wourth it. You can order ahead a boat trip ..if you are going to the black beach and the waterfalls this is a bit further but a special place

Our capital city is Reykjavik it is about an hour to downtown from the cottage .. if you are visiting from 1 mai to 1 oct you can drive our favorite road and that is nesjavallaleiðin after 1 of oct is is closed ,you will drive like on the way þingvellir and turn left by ljósafossvirkjun .. drive over a bridge and make your way past nesjavallavirkjun .. dont turn there .. drive past it ..then a minute later turn left .. up and down some hills .. up the mountentop .. then up and down some hills ... this is a great area to have a walk or a picknic ... few cars and just our favorite drive to Reykjavìk .. the road will follow a big pipe all the way to Reykjavìk .. in the pipe is our hot water going to Reykjavìk .. We love ❤ this drive and all the places you can stop on the way to just have a peaceful romantic moments .... those places are before you get to the mountain ..
