Sightseeing

Free village parking. First part of the walk is buggy and wheelchair friendly for a short out and back (about 1km). For those more able, continue along the river to see and hear the noise of the weirs before returning over farmland to the road and back down the hill to the village. Sheltered and weather friendly with easy access to facilities including café, pub, shop and fuel.

Walking

Just at the end of the village you'll find Binsey. Even the youngest of our guests can manage this gentle ascent to reach beautiful views to Scotland, the Cumbrian Mountains and Bassenthwaite Lake. Take a picnic and a flask and enjoy a peaceful coffee break or lunch. Plenty of free parking in the lane.
