Sightseeing
A short drive and an easy walk brings you to one of my favorite easy access small waterfalls in the area. From the camp turn left on Saari road, left onto Aura road, right onto Townline road at the stop sign, left onto Skanee road at the next stop sign, Right onto Arvon Road (dirt). If you pass The Finns Bar, you went too far. A few miles up you will see a sign for Quartzite falls. The path from the bridge is well worn. Enjoy!

If they are out, and thick, no amount of bug spray will save you. They bite!

Witz Marina is a great place to check out. Situated on the generally calm Huron Bay as the boating gateway to the big lake! They have a small general store, marine fuel, and a large sandy beach area out past the campground.

Looking for a beach day? This is the place. Pine tree lined soft sand public beach that is normally calm and protected from wind. From the camp, left onto Saari road, right onto Aura road which turns into 2nd Sand Beach Road. Cant miss it.

This one is absolutely beautiful but a little harder to get to unless you have brought your own boat or jetskis. If that is the case, I would love to act as your guide for the trip as I have my own jetskis and love making this run. It is possible to catch a ride from someone at Witz Marina if you ask inside the marina store. Its a 12 mile boat ride in big water (which can be quite rough) to the big island which has a mile-ish long uphill walking trail up to the old lighthouse compound. Scenic, rocky lake views from 7 miles offshore will take your breath away!

Finlander bay is on the end of Point Abbaye rd. It has some nice flat shallow areas to swim and beautiful views of Lake Superior. Beware of biting flies which swarm from time to time in this area. Check for them by staying in the car with windows up for a few minutes before exiting.

The water plunges into a large pool that is accessed from a parking area and a walking trail. From the camp, left on Saari rd, left on Aura rd, right onto Townline rd, and right on Skanee rd heading toward Lanse. The falls rd is on your left a few miles after turning on Skanee rd.

The water plunges into a large pool that is accessed from a parking area and a walking trail. From the camp, left on Saari rd, left on Aura rd, right onto Townline rd, and right on Skanee rd heading toward Lanse. The falls rd is on your left a few miles after turning on Skanee rd.
A little bit of backroads driving but something to see off the beaten path. Beautiful river vistas and countless wildlife encounters. There is a map in your camp that shows its location.

Located on the waterfront in downtown L'Anse, this scenic park has a marina, swimming beach, children's playground, picnic area and a pavilion with concerts during the summer.

General Store
This will be the nearest place to our camps for basics like ice, drinks, gas (no diesel), snack foods. It is about 7 miles away and also the last store before heading into the Arvon woods.
