An interesting and extensive array of exhibits depicting the history of the Huguenots in the Cape Colony and the extent of the persecution that caused them to flee their home countries. If you don't have much time in Franschhoek, the Franschhoek Wine Tram is a great way to see a number of wine farms in one day. Be careful of trying too many wines - it's very easy to overdo the tastings! Read the info on their website and book your line or a curated wine tour of your choice. Just around the corner from Aloe Corner, this small coffee shop is ideal to sit, chat and meet the locals and their dogs. The coffee is really good and their rusks are scrumptious.

Hey Joe's is just outside the village. There's a wonderful tree-shaded beer garden, plenty of space for children to run around and a Friday evening market. As far as I know this brewery was the first to brew Belgian beers in South Africa. Read their story at https://www.heyjoebrewery.com

Consejos para la ciudad

Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Walking is often the best way to get around the village.

From Aloe Corner you can easily walk the entire length of the village. Not wanting to walk home after a shopping spree or oh-so-scrumptious meal? Call a Tuk Tuk or Uber. Ubers and taxis are available in Franschhoek. You can also arrange you own wine tour and shuttle service by contacting https://www.franschhoektaxis.co.za If you want a different way to get around, try bike rentals from Franschhoek Cycles.
