Trendy Bruntsfield hang-out with good cocktails and a nice bar, plus good food. Very busy and often a wait for a table, but just get a drink at the bar.

Marine TerraceThe River Tweed flows South-west to North-east about 1 hour South of Edinburgh by car. There are various nice towns along the river, each with riverside walks (Peebles, Melrose, St Boswells, Kelso). Scott's View is a beautiful viewpoint over the Tweed and is famous as a favourite spot of Sir Walter Scott, Borders poet, lawyer and architect among others. Bert's in Melrose does a good pub lunch, as does the Blue Coo in St Boswells. Fishing is available on the river at a range of prices and there are good local hill walks.
