The area has housed the meat industry for many decades and consists of Den Hvide, Den Grå and Den Brune Kødby according to the color of the buildings.

The 800-year-old market town exudes maritime cultural history and is surrounded by beautiful nature. Kronborg sits as a prominent flagship overlooking the Øresund, and in the charming, cobbled streets you can feel that you are in a piece of Danish history. But it doesn't all take place in the past. Elsinore is characterized by an enterprising local cultural life.
A short ferrytrip (20 minutes) takes you to Helsingborg in Sweeden, and is also nice to see on a sunny day.
