If you want to climb one of the most iconic Mountains in Phoenix, you need to hike up Camelback Moutain which is located right in the Center of Phoenix. You can see the whole city from the top! Parking can be difficult so I suggest going early to get a spot.

This is a fantastic day trip for the whole family. The Out of Africa Wildlife Park features a variety of big cats (lions, tigers) etc. as well as many other kinds of wildlife. There are demonstrations to show the animal's natural skills and playfulness as well as a variety of tours through the park. I highly recommend you combine this day trip with a visit to the Montsuma Castle Cliff dwellings which are close by.
The wildlife park is also free for guests on their birth month :)

If you want to see how ancient people lived in Arizona, this is a wonderful place to visit. The ancient people lived in Cliff Dwellings which are situated high up the side of a mountain. This is a National Park with guides available.
I also suggest you visit the Montezuma well which is near by and/or the Out of Africa Wildlife Park on the same day.

Montezuma Castle RoadIf you want to see how ancient people lived in Arizona, this is a wonderful place to visit. The ancient people lived in Cliff Dwellings which are situated high up the side of a mountain. This is a National Park with guides available.
I also suggest you visit the Montezuma well which is near by and/or the Out of Africa Wildlife Park on the same day.
If you want to spend the day at the lake, this is a beautiful place. Located about 30 minute drive from the house, there is a Marina where you can rent a boat or have lunch right next to the water.
