For a typical Mexican restaurant, you can't beat La Fonda, a beautiful view with all meals served, we rotate between Loney Bean, Rico's and La Fonda for beach breakfasts.

The Strawberry Cheesecake, New York style, fresh strawberries and not so sweet and rich as most. The coffee is excellent and the breakfasts are fantastic.

You will find a second Raggio in Centro inside and next to Allegro, we eat here often, the Tuna is fantastic, the pasta is fresh and we have not found a thing on the menu that we haven't loved. If I could eat here every night I would but my husband thinks we should mix it up.

The tomato and avocado tower is fantastic, it is an appetizer but I eat it as a meal. Everything here is good, it's like being at home, friendly, pretty and simple.

The one place out of the area that we like is Fat Fish for BBQ. Very simple, inexpensive with excellent meat.

You can walk to take a taxi to the Stone island ferry, over by the Baha Ferry dock, it is a boat that holds about 12 people and takes about 10 minutes to cross. You get off the boat, follow the people over the peninsula, short walk abt. 400 feet and you will find a beautiful fine sand beach that lets you think that you just got far away from the city. Here you can walk down the beach to Lety's or many other great restaurants, they have nice beach chairs in the sand and will serve you drinks and food all day long. Most guide books tell you to prepare for a full day of it but we go out there for a couple of hours of sun. On the weekend it feels like all of Mexico is at the beach and there is tons of beach entertainment to watch or enjoy.
