It is the ancient cemetery of Athens. Probably not the most famous sight seeing in Athens but certainly one of the nicest! You can see it without even entering it, though I would definately suggest to pay the ticket- I do it myself from times to times. You can note how Christian churches evolved in order to suppress the old religion. Also a great place to walk and enjoy a beer without being in a bar. Especially during the hot nights you can feel the lower temperature in this lowest part of Ermou street!

Kerameikos station

Parks & Nature
The nicest beach around Athens! Especially later than September when there are very few people. It can be combined with sight seeing- the ancient temple of Posidon built by Theseas in the memory of his father. Great place to take photos and watch the sunset with your partner or alone.

It is a hill near Syntagma. It is nice to walk up there and enjoy the view and the breeze. I like it any time. Early morning or late evening and even in the mid of the day with the sun right above my head. During summertime there are concertsand theatre plays in the theater but I would rather enjoy the place when there are fewer visitors. Also undescribable. Just sitting there and watching the marvelous chaos of the city.
