Where to happy hour or grab a bite and watch a nightclub appear before your eyes! These happening spots are great to get there early to claim your table or barstool, enjoy a drink or even a great meal and watch the line start forming outside after dark from the best seat in the house.
Mavericks is the tried and true beach club for yuppy locals, active military and youngish tourists. If you’re looking to have a “serious” night out this is always a sure thing. By 10pm if Mavericks isn’t packed, safe to assume that nowhere else is either. Stay after happy hour even if it seems quiet because it fills up fast and there will be a long line for entry. At night, it becomes several bars and clubs in one. The outdoor beach club with games is your classic bar experience with a nightclub directly in the back with bar and bottle service. A lounge inside to your left with a more chill atmosphere and music and another nightclub directly above that has more of a dance vibe with alternating hiphop and latin most nights. If you’re venturing out alone this is a great spot as with the heavy presence of active military there is no nonsense here. Young ladies can relax and have a good time and most advances by others are purely friendly and harmless. You can safely accept a cocktail and even dance the night away and you’ll probably part ways with a polite hug or sometimes a high five! For gentleman, guys are super cordial and polite to one another here and you’ll probably make some new friends!

You’ve got a balanced mix of your locals from yuppy to more tranquil adult. Price point is a little higher than some of the surrounding spots so less college kids making the bar a little more efficient. I’ve stayed here all evening after a late lunch on several occasions... yes Im very serious! Ask for a table on the glass alongside the front bar (immediately in front of you and to your right when you enter the restaurant). This is the best spot to enjoy the ocean view, sunset, and if it’s a crowded night this area is best to watch the crowd outside waiting to get in as well as watch all the action inside without being too much in the thick of it. If you want to dance or be in the mix, choose a spot more towards the back bar near where the giant octopus is painted on the wall in the far right corner.
