Leith, the area where you are, and specifically The shore, still retains a unique character that makes it one of the most interesting areas of the Scottish capital.
The Shore is an area located at the mouth of the Water of Leith, a river that rises in the mountains of the Pentlands, flows for more than 35 km and crosses Edinburgh until it joins the Firth of Forth.
As you leave the house, if you go to your left, you will reach the port of The Shore. In the afternoons people sit on the stones of the pier to watch the sunset and have a few beers.
In several restaurants in the area there is live music in the evenings.
you have a delicious ice cream shop just to the left before reaching the water, it is called Crolla's Gelateria Leith
Mi Mimi’s Bakehouse is a perfect patisserie for breakfast or afternoon tea in Edinburgh. Their cakes and coffees are irresistible!

You will also find near the house and the ice cream parlor, the water of Leith walkaway. This path runs alongside the water and through Edinburgh through natural sites, an ideal excursion to explore a quiet and unknown face of the city.
If you decide to follow it, in about 40 minutes you will reach the Edinburgh Botanical Garden,and in about 25 more minutes, the village of Dean Village.
I highly recommend you follow this path
