Beach

● Peharovo beach in Lovran - our local favorite. Pebble beach 1km from Lovran center. Great if you're going with a car because there is free parking available right above the bus turnstile. Also, if you're going with a bus, its 20 meters from the station. The beach has a bar with local prices.

● Medveja beach - 2km from Lovran centre, beautiful, clean pebble beach. It's a great beach for staying the whole day. Deck chairs and parasols are available to rent. Parking is available in the camp or 300m from the camp (you'll see the parking sign Kali) unfortunately it is not free. You can also leave your car on Peharovo parking and walk for 5-10 minutes, or go with the local bus line 32A for 1 stop. A few bars available in the area (my tip is that you go to one of the bars closer to the pier - prices are better and they are run by locals) :)

Sightseeing

● Lungomare - seafront promenade that stretches along the coast of Kvarner Bay. Lungomare connects Lovran all the way to Volosko. This is a MUST visit - to get to know this area, you have to take a walk on the Lungomare. Admire the view of magnificent historical villas and other spectacular pieces of 19th-century architecture while you walk by the sea, become more acquainted with the richness of the coastal vegetation and feel the beneficial effects of the local climate. My tip - go on an evening walk, after 19:00 :)

Volosko is a fishing village where life has long been oriented towards the sea. Today, it's a very popular gourmet destination with excellent restaurants. The Mediterranean spirit is woven into the architecture of Volosko, a place whose stone steps and narrow streets hide several art galleries and ateliers. The heart of Volosko is its small fishing harbour, known as mandrać, which is today a stage for performances of klapa vocal groups and jazz music, as well as other artistic events. In addition to historical and cultural sights of interest, you can find the house where the world-famous scientist Andrija Mohorovičić was born.

City/town information

● Ika - charming old fishing village. Ika is located beneath Mount Učka, 2km from Lovran on the way to Opaija, and it's characterised by a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that is ideal for those seeking to get away from the hectic daily pace of life. A special event is the Fish Festival, when visitors can experience what it means to live in a coastal place like this, as they have the opportunity to help fishermen repair their nets or place the fish traps, observe the fishing boats as they set out to sea, and then taste the freshly caught fish prepared by local chefs.
