The memorial tower to Sir Robert Peel, also known as "Holcombe Tower", high above Ramsbottom was planned and erected at the same time as Bury was preparing its statue to the then recently deceased statesman who was born in Bury. The tower occupies a prominent position on Harcles Hill 1,100 feet above sea level.

We are regulars at Mrs Ps with the kids. Straightforward clean cafe, in pleasant location in centre of Ramsbottom. Ice cream is great, other food made to order and always of a high standard. Very reasonable prices. Big chair outside for photo opportunity.

Good choice of beers and Gins, some of which are made on-site.
Staff are very friendly and polite.
Not the world's biggest place, but has a nice little balcony which is very popular on the sunny days.
Well worth a visit for a swift pint or 3.
