Very close to the Villa, lovely historic city center. Truly local, not only a tourist attraction. Wonder around the city center, take a walk at the wall around the center, visit Torre Guingi (the tower with hair). Worth parking at Mazzini (underground parking lot), when you get up from the parking, visit Pecora Nera for a quick coffee or prosecco. Lovely people for a good cause and always good coffee.

Lucca

Calci Charterhouse (Certosa di Pisa or di Calci), which houses a natural history museum of the University of Pisa. Must visit with kids with interest in natural history. Absolute off-track sight, hardly anyone there. The building is magnificent, the garden is amazing. We just love it. Extra tip: just beside the museum you can find a nice little place to eat called Agroturismo Terra & Aroma (usually booking is required)

Calci
