Outdoor Activities
This area is a mecca for outdoor activities! Please ask us for tips if you’re looking for a good place to go hiking, biking, or swimming. There are many other places besides those listed below and we’re happy to share our local knowledge. The Trailforks app has many of these trails on it and all sorts of useful information. Download the Maine region.
Just a 7-minute drive from Treetop vista! Hiking and Mtn biking in the summer. Downhill and cross country skiing in the winter. You can access the “round the mountain” trailhead from the east side of the parking lot. Home of the National toboggan championship every February. Chairlift rides in October during peak foliage.

Another place to start the “round the mountain trail,” which is great for hiking, running, or mountain biking. The trail isn’t finished around the whole mountain so it ends at the Camden Snow Bowl, but it’s a great out and back. The trail is wide, smooth gravel.

Beech Hill is a nice, easy hike, with great views of the bay at the top. Great for families and young kids.

Thuya and Asticou gardens in Northeast Harbor are beautiful, and there are miles of walking trails.

Take a day trip on the schooner Olad with Captain Aaron. It's a great way to get out on the water and see the coast.

Museums and Rainy Day activities
Camden, Rockland, and Belfast are all great nearby coastal towns to explore. There are numerous art galleries and unique retail stores, in addition to the activities listed below.
Wonderful collection of Maine artists, especially the Wyeth’s. In the middle of downtown Rockland, so you can check out other galleries, shops, and restaurants before or after.

Food scene
Midcoast Maine has an incredible restaurant scene, with nationally award-winning places to eat. In summer, be sure to make reservations, for the most popular restaurants you may even want to call before your trip, and if you’re doing takeout, call early in the day. Places close early here, often by 9 PM, so plan in advance. Restaurants do not deliver out to Hope, but there is a delivery service that will deliver until 9 PM on weekends, check out: craft delivery service
