Chatfield State ParkPart of Jefferson County Open Space. This is a great place to go for an hour long hike with modest elevation change and beautiful scenery. They offer picnic tables and clean bathrooms.

This is another great one to two hour or more hiking area within just a few miles of our home. This park has picnic areas and nice restrooms near the parking lot. The hikes here are more intense elevation changes but nothing too difficult if you take your time. Hide your valuables because they sometimes have car break-ins at the parking area! Snakes are sometimes a mild concern but we've only seen them once and we've gone hundreds of times. Just keep your eyes on the trail a few feet ahead!

Deer Creek Canyon Park

It’s an out-and-back hike, and you have a lot of options, from a short hike in to have a picnic, all to way to 12.4 mile round trip adventure to the Strontia Springs Dam. You can hike, bike, and fish on this hike near Denver.

Neighborhood "pub" restaurant only a few miles away. This place has delicious food, cold drinks and great service all done with an Alaskan theme. They fly the fish in from Alaska! The place is in a neighborhood strip center that doesn't live up to the appeal of the restaurant. Very clean, excellent food, and friendly staff.

Within five minutes you'll feel like you're setting in a real Italian trattoria. They cook authentic Italian wood-fired pizza as well as other dishes. They have Chianti and cold beer. Our favorite is the "Bella Pizza".

Within five minutes you'll feel like you're setting in a real Italian trattoria. They cook authentic Italian wood-fired pizza as well as other dishes. They have Chianti and cold beer. Our favorite is the "Bella Pizza".
Best place for a variety of seafood in the immediate area. This is a chain restaurant and their standards are consistent and high. Also, it's a great place for a fancier cocktail.

Not really a restaurant, not really a bar. They serve really nice wines with a variety of appetizers and often times they have live music in the evenings. It sits in an historic old house with a nice outdoor dining experience.

Sightseeing
It will take you most of the day but this is an iconic drive from Blackhawk (Casinos) to Estes Park. Lot's of higher elevation hiking, great views of the Front Range peaks.

Boulder is about 45 minutes from our house. It has a wide variety of shopping, restaurants and bars. The eclectic personalities will make the experience even more interesting. Our favorite places are the University of Colorado campus, Flagstaff Mountain, Chautauqua Park, Frasca Restaurant $$$$, Pizza Locale, FAIT brewing, The Kitchen, Boulder Canyon. This is a great outing if you don't want to go to the mountains but want to see something "Colorado". The Flatiron mountains are spectacular as you drive into and around Boulder.

Tipsy's is beautiful and spacious, with an easy to decipher layout and ample, helpful staff.
