This is a great walk from the house which makes a 4 mile loop or you can drive 2 miles to the park and walk around the trails and lighthouse. Great place for a picnic along the water or on the lawn of this historic light house. Picnic tables available and free parking. There is also a small beach here. Walk out on the pier to get a great view of the ocean. Don't miss this great park only a couple minutes from the house.

A short 10 min drive away offers another nice hiking spot. This 200 acre public park on the island is accessible by foot with plenty of parking. From here you will see another view of Cape Jellison and the marina.

Bring a rain coat and/or windbreaker and warmer layers. Temps can drop on some nights and wind is just about every day on the coast.

Lobsters can be sometimes referred to as " bugs"
A "cull" is a lobster with only one claw or none. Usually sold at a much cheaper price and can be a bargain if you ask for them.
"Steama" is a name for the local clams that you steam in a pot.
Remember the letters "er" are often replaced with an "a'" and also the letter "a" at the end of a word can be pronounced with an "er".
