Access Island Beach via Penguin St and you can drive your car onto the beach. Perfect for loading up a picnic and taking beach toys down.
Help yourself to the kids toys from the buckets at the shack, borrow the blue boogie board and take the blue umbrella to rest on the sand for shade. Settle in for a great day at the beach!
*tip: check 'Island Beach' on the willyweather Web page and look for a South Westerley wind direction. The water will be flat with an off-shore breeze🙂

A 20 minute drive from Perentie Pines Shack, Clifford's is a great experience for the whole family! See the bees work their magic in an inside hive, watch the videos, play in the sandpit and cubbyhouse and don't forget to buy a tub of their famous HONEY ICECREAM! A secret family recipe it is the most delicious ice cream you have ever experienced!
Fantastic shop front too, including honey beer and honey beauty products.
Only a 5 minute drive from the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery.

A delicious licensed Cafe, great coffee, outdoor seating and a playground for kids. The emus are highly entertaining as is the local dog and friendly magpie. Wallaby

Enjoy the Cannery Walk out to the point from here, if your kids are up for adventure. You may spot Glossy Black Cocatoos.

American River
The township of America River has 2 playgrounds- one across the road from the Oyster Shop near the Jetty (both of these are worth a visit also), and one by the Shed on the oval across from the camp ground.

A great walk in the middle of Penneshaw the sculpture trail has many stunning sculptures, a swing bridge for children to race across and a cute picnic spot under the trees.
